How to Send E-mail
When sending bulk e-mail you basically have two options: (1) purchase and install bulk e-mail software within your own organization; or (2) contract with an e-mail service bureau to host a solution for you. Either option can offer a comprehensive feature set. The choice depends on a number of factors including costs, internal resources and your company’s philosophy.

Software
Purchase a software license for internal use in your organization.
Integrate with your contact management or CRM system.
May require involvement from your IT department to install or integrate

Contract with a service provider to host solution for you
Upload your list and content to their secure server
May result in two different copies of your list that aren’t synchronized: one at your service provider, one on your premises.
When to Send E-mail
There have been many studies conducted regarding the best time of day and day of week to send B-to-B marketing e-mails. Most of them find Tuesday through Thursday, either late morning or early afternoon, is the best time for your e-mails to arrive. The logic behind this suggests people are busy on Mondays with a new workweek and on Fridays, trying to finish projects or get out of the office early. However, some of these studies may lead to self-fulfilling prophecies: as more people read these statistics, more send e-mails on Tuesday through Thursday and more get opened on those days. The best strategy is to test various times and days yourself and make your own conclusion as to the best times to send e-mail marketing communications.
